Opportunity lies in difficulties?
How true is that?
Does it apply in all cases? Or is there a specific range?

In this society which is, sadly, consumed by materialism, bearable to you?
Am I to blend into the pattern? Or there's a better route?
To enjoy life here when all is nothing but hectic rat race?

I should be grateful and appreciate all I have...

Sorry for keeping u waiting......I apologize for my Garfield-like ways. But I think u should feel lucky to have sucha lazee but smart friend! I'm touched that Terence actually is concern about my bl0g. Hmmm...I think he should because he is my inspiration. ( Terence, I hope that u could help me inform Ghee Vui after u hv read this)......

#1: Yummy Sunday

I was touched last Sunday( 6/7/08), for my mom was suddenly enthusiastic in cooking. Perhaps you might say "LOL! What's so surprising of you mom cooking in the kitchen?"

Well, problem is my mom doesn't cook( except for instant noodles or fried eggs). I only her only dish few years back....it was chicken with plum sauce....I guess so. Can't really remember the details or flavours of the dish, because it was really a long time ago.

I really dunno why she suddenly wanted to cook dinner. I didn't ask her for I think
I could have guessed. I'm leaving ti singapore soon. Although it aint that far-away, I'm not quite sure if i will be back that soon. so I think she wanna make it memorable for me! Haa^^

Anyway, she had been busying herself with her cooking. I dare not step into the kitchen because she said she gotta concentrate and all distractions were to be eliminated. So I didn't get to see the process. But alas, miraculously( Yea, that's the perfect word, mind you, she hadn't cook for two decades!), she got things nicely done. I'm proud to say that she had prepared.....erm.....5 dishes and 1 soup!

Dishes: 1) TOfu with Porky ( Hmm....aint that word 'Porky' familiar to Terence?)
2) Chicky Wings ( It's fried, somehow one side of each piece is black)
3) Chopped Sprouts Vege Mix ( Rabbit food)
4) Fried Prawn ( I think thr's actually pork in the fried pieces too)
5) Nestum Buttered Prawn ( I personally like this dish best becoz of its fragrance......i just love butter!)

Soup: Sweet Corn Cream Soup ( When I say 'cream', it's really thick!)

Of course, I enjoyed the meal.....oops, forgot to mention that the rice is actually butter rice! Mom asked me to rate and I gave her full marks. Though dad actually pointed out her mistakes in every single dish! Reason is this is the 1st time in my life having my mom cook a proper dinner. I will be satisfied even if the pork is raw!

Farewell with IS Science Department

I'm leaving IS soon. Having been working here as a temporary lab asst for a few months, I got to know my lecturers more. Mdm Emily is very nice to everybody and always take care of her colleagues. Mr Chok is kind to me and he is always free to teach me stuff. Ahh...........too much to describe.

But Mdm Emily is so generous that she foot the bill for my farewell cum Mr Chok's Father's Day!!!

Believe it or Not! I got the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship!!!

I am so damn lucky,

Just like what my Dad said,

I still remember,

that I don't have the confidence.

While the others kept telling me

that

I'm the one.

I did feel frustrated

because my letter of offer was late.

I was beyond worried,

my innerself enveloped by apprehension.

I couldn't 'Rest in Peace'

for I'm being asked,

the same single question everyday,

' Have you get it?'

Things get bitter

when I'm under pressure.

Can't they stop asking me,

the very question that drive me mad?

Losing patience and confidence,

I try to make myself believe

I really couldn't get it

But I couldn't do it,

for I'm optimistic.

No matter how confuse my feelings are,

Its earthquake! Not a harmless tremor! It's supposed to be a prospering year for China, as China is going to be the host for the prestigious Olympic Games 2008. Unfortunately, China has suffered a lot even though we haven't enter mid-year of 2008. In the beginning of the year, that's right before Chinese New Year, a serious snow storm had targetted China. Blizzards and avalanche had deliberately forced a large population of happy home-comers to be trapped at various stations. There were accidents and other troubles throughout the process of saving or freeing the people. At the end of the day, the whole world got to see that the China government really cares for its people, for things are done spontaneously and effectively.

Little do the epople know that another massive disaster will strike while everyone is focusing on the major event---Olympic Games 2008. Calamity left all of us in a shocking state. Sichuan is now a land of debris and dust, roamed by perhaps more than 50,000 souls and there are still millions of homeless survivors. Parents have lost their children ( most families have only one child). Of course, children have lost their parents. I have read of one news that showed a little girl managed to survive as her parents had sacrificed themselves for her.

There is also a 20-year-old girl who spent her birthday on a stretcher, with her rescuers singing a birthday song to her once she was freed from the ruins. The rescue parties are trying very hard to save as many lives as possible. What we could do here is to donate monay or help by any other means. At the mean time, we should pray together that the survivors will be strong enough to carry on with their lives, whereas the unfortunate to live in peace. What have happened have happened, we would just have to learn from this tragedy.

In fairy tales, witches are portrayed as ugly, malevolent and spooky. Thanks to J.k.Rowling that the virtual world of witchcraft is now widely acceptable, or should I say much appreciated? Im my childhood days, I always want to be the princess. In my teens, I switched my identity---the princess evolves into a witch! The title may have changed, but the heart never does. I appreciate that Rowling created a new image for those in the wizarding world. A witch or a wizard may choose to be good or evil. The same applies to Muggles. Are you wizardry-discriminated? For sure I'm not, coz I'm an enchantress......

Blog for FUN???

Yeah...I finally created a blog of my own...I really like Terence's blog. He inspired me ( ahem... as if he is that great, but somehow he is). Well, that's how The Enchantress' Touch exists. Now that I couldn't really decorate my blog. Shouldn't complain as I'm using the staffroom facilities. Wait till I have my own notebook, with a wave of my wand, The Enchantress' Touch will become a Cinderella!
